Please note I am currently fully booked and will not be taking on any new clients until after the New Year.
Many different things can bring us to counselling.
A specific life event could be overwhelming you such as a loss, the end of a relationship, a change in circumstances, employment, or health.
You may be weighed down with feelings of stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and feeling out of control or unable to cope. Equally, you may be experiencing a lack of direction, feelings of boredom or of being trapped.
Maybe you find yourself replaying the same unhelpful patterns in life over and over or there may be events from your past that are preventing you from living your life in the way you would like to.
And sometimes, we just don’t have the words for what is wrong.
At these times, and many others, it can be helpful to speak to a counsellor. Counselling provides a space where you are able to explore and be yourself without judgement or being told what you should do. Talking through issues allows you to focus your attention on your thoughts, feelings and emotions. It can help unburden you, increase your self-awareness, make you feel less alone and gain new perspectives; all of which can help empower you to make healthier choices.
I have counselled a wide range of clients from age 11-80 face to face, online and over the telephone, covering a huge variety of mental health issues from anxiety, depression, bullying and self-harm to bereavement, trauma and historic sexual abuse within both short and longer-term therapy. I am LGBTQIA+, size, disability, and neurodiversity positive; having spent a lot of time working with a wide variety of clients and their needs.
